What is it?! Adios! is an extreme file-system cleaner. It is programmed to recognize over 150 different types of “garbage files”, such as  e.g. temporary files, log files, used installation files, Windows update files, memory dumps and internet files that are left behind by many programs you use ánd (specially) by Windows all the time! Adios! also cleans up the HUGE mess left behind by the XP Service Pack 2 installation!!

Adios! can also be configured to empty trash bins, norton protected bins, remove “history”, “favorites” and “recent” databases, remove specific backup files and truncate log files. Apart from these 150 wellknown  application-specific and Windows-specific filetypes, Adios! searches your harddisk(s) for a large number of “wildcards” to find temporary files in unusual locations. Adios! can be updated by means of downloadable pattern files (registered version).

Adios! is the sequel to the favorite “Straycat Windows Cleaner”. The distribution and development of Straycat was halted after complaints by Microsoft lawyers regarding the name (it has the word Windows in it’s name...). We have changed the name and fully overhauled the old kitty in 2004. It’s much faster and advanced now and runs smoothly on Windows XP. It utilizes the latest techniques for low-level  file scanning and removal (such as pattern heuristics). Adios! is much faster than most virus scanners and filesearch tools!

Adios! utilizes a search and selection/deletion phase. Found files can be selected for eventual deletion and no files will be removed by Adios! without your permission.
